Recruitment Overview

The Indy Eleven Pro Academy provides a professional development pathway for elite boys seeking to compete in MLS NEXT and USL Academy environments.

Players are identified and recruited based on long-term potential, technical ability, game understanding, mentality, and readiness to train and compete within a professional academy setting.

Recruitment reflects selection into a development pathway, not short-term roster needs.

Competition & Pathway

Pro Academy players train and compete in elite competitive environments designed to prepare them for the demands of the professional and collegiate game.

The academy pathway emphasizes:

Professional training standards
High-level weekly competition
Long-term player development and progression

In addition to youth competition, select Pro Academy players may have opportunities to progress into the senior professional environment through USL Academy contracts.

Evaluation & Player Placement Model

Players are recruited into the Indy Eleven Pro Academy, rather than to a single, fixed team roster.

Placement within the academy is based on development, readiness, training performance, and competitive demands, not solely chronological age.

As a result:

Players may be selected across multiple age groups of competition
Roster selections may vary week to week and match to match
Placement is continually evaluated to ensure appropriate challenge and development

Players may compete with an older age group when developmentally appropriate. In certain cases, players may also compete with a younger age group when identified as biological late maturers.

Rosters published on our website are organized by birth year and reflect eligibility and availability, not permanent team assignment.

Professional Pathway Opportunities

Pro Academy players may be eligible for selection to the Indy Eleven senior team in the USL Championship and U.S. Open Cup through USL Academy contracts.

USL Academy contracts allow players to:

Train and compete within the senior professional environment
Gain exposure to first-team standards and expectations
Maintain NCAA eligibility while progressing within a professional pathway
